From near and far away they came,
their spirits and their hearts aflame
to England’s Salisbury Plain
to celebrate earth, sun and rain.

Joyful the people travelled here
to witness solstice twice a year.
Spellbound they scanned the hemisphere
waiting for the sun to appear.

Stonehenge – built long before Christianity!
Stonehenge – has witnessed so much agony!
Stonehenge – the proof of our supremacy!
Stonehenge – is showing us our destiny!

The shaman played a soothing tune,
high on the headstone the life rune.
The sun would top it very soon
on this years twenty first of June.

Then the sun cast away the night,
the day grew friendly, warm and bright.
In every heart it did ignite
a feeling of hopeful delight.

Four thousand years have now gone by,
above the rocks the sun stands high,
watching over them from the sky
as if it were a golden eye.

Stonehenge was built to set a sign,
to be for us a guiding line,
to serve us as a countersign:
The ancient believes are divine!
